This is an outrage. Since when is it OK to demolish a series of beautiful, real adobe buildings that were impeccably built? The sign says "Coming soon: Wellness Center". And think of the traffic that a huge new complex for out- of-towners will bring! Seeing the demolition is one of the most disturbing experiences ever. Those historic buildings, bricks, and other material that no one can afford anymore are all lying in tall, wide heaps. Cerrillos Road will be uglier and more congested than ever, now that one of its two jewels has been razed. Doesn't the city of Santa Fe's Historic Preservation group have any scruples? The other beauty on Cerrillos Road is the School for the Deaf. The decision to tear down The Indian School was just plain dumb!
